The Legendary Sam Cooke is about music, religion, romance, and history. Carla Cooke is the youngest daughter of the Legendary Sam Cooke. Carla’s future mirrors the image of her father. Carla crafted her sound in the church similar to her dad and never sought to use her father's name but to build her own reputation as many do. Now the younger Cooke knows her father’s roots are so deep that Carla has become her own person and connects with her roots through her father's music. Carla is currently on tour with the "Ultimate Sam Cooke Experience Tribute" with her band Agape Nation, where she performs unforgettable hit songs of her father and shares intimate stories about her Father's life and music. Carla has been on tour with "The Daughters of Rhythm and Blues" and as a featured artist with Jeff Pitchell and Texas Flood. One of New England's top rated bands. Don't miss the journey Carla will take you on with her performances.

The Summer Jam at Watkins Glen was a 1973 rock festival which once received the Guinness Book of World Records entry for "Largest audience at a pop festival." An estimated 600,000 rock fans came to the Watkins Glen Grand Prix Raceway outside Watkins Glen, New York on July 28, 1973, to see the Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead and The Band perform.

Although the concert was scheduled to start on July 28, thousands of music fans were already at the concert site on the 27th. Robbie Robertson of The Band requested to do a soundcheck, but was perpleTxed that so many people were sitting in front of the stage. Bill Graham allowed the soundcheck with the crowd of people in front, and The Band ran through a few numbers to the delight of the audience. The Allman Brothers Band did their soundcheck next, playing "One Way Out" and "Ramblin' Man". The Grateful Dead's legendary soundcheck turned into a two set marathon, featuring their familiar tunes such as "Sugaree", "Tennessee Jed" and "Wharf Rat". They also performed a unique jam that was eventually included on their retrospective CD box set So Many Roads (1965-1995).

Steal Your peach Band will perform 3 sets of music, one from each band.

Theatreworks USA returns to Historic Memorial Hall for a third season to perform Junie B. Jones. This presentation is a musical (that is a play all jumbled together with singing and dancing, I believe). And what do you know! It's all about me, Junie B. Jones! (The B stands for Beatrice, only I do not like Beatrice. I just like B and that's all.)

This is the bestest musical ever, I tell you! It's got loads of funny songs, and it's based on a bunch of books this lady, Barbara Park, wrote about me and the things I do in first grade.

Junie B., First Grader (at Last!) In first grade, I meet new friends (like Herb and José, but not that tattle-tale May). But my new teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks I might need glasses!

Junie B., Boss of Lunch I get to help my friend, the cafeteria lady! And I get to wear a real actual hair net too! Who knows.... Maybe someday I'll be the boss of the whole lunch operation!

Junie B., One-Man Band The whole entire first grade is having a kickball tournament! Only, when I practice my kicking, I stub my piggy toe so badly I can't play. But my friend Sheldon can't play either, so maybe we can do a half-time show instead!

Whew! I'm glad I can write everything down in my Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal! And you know what? I think I might like first grade after all!

Love, (but not the mushy kind)
Junie B.

(One hour in length, recommended for grades K - 5)

Scenes from Theatreworks USA's musical, JUNIE B. JONES. Book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler, Music by Zina Goldrich, based on the book series by Barbara Park, choreographed by Devanand Janki, directed by Peter Flynn. Video features members of the 2008 Off-Broadway cast at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in New York City: Randy Aaron, Shannon Antalan, Jennifer Cody, Blake Ginther, Sarah Saltzberg, John Scherer.
